Eric Berman is the head of partnerships and business development for Ellation, managing strategic partnerships across Ellation’s portfolio of brands including Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand with 50 million registered users and two million subscribers, VRV, the fandom-focused streaming platform, and Rooster Teeth, the biggest gaming entertainment destination. In this role, Berman is responsible for building direct to consumer partnerships across video distribution platforms and connected devices, along with exploring new business opportunities with both traditional and digital content creators.
During his time at Ellation, Berman has managed all content and strategic marketing partnerships for VRV, with a focus on growing audience and subscriber acquisition, as well as driving distribution strategy for Crunchyroll, growing the business from 250,000 subscribers when he joined to more than two million today.
Prior to joining Ellation, Berman worked at Hulu for four years, where he oversaw the Hulu Plus living room distribution strategy from inception, growing the business to more than five million paid subscribers. Before joining Hulu, Berman worked with various digital media companies such as Sling Media and ZillonTV.
Berman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and was a member of the UCLA Men’s Basketball Final Four Team in 2008.
